At the start of a new week, Noel...

At the start of a new week, Noel asked the question “what could be simpler than opening 22 boxes?” But he went on to explain that it is when people bring their faith and belief to the game, you start to have a problem. “How far do you pursue it?” wondered Noel who said it is about knowing when to stop. “The only screaming certainty in Deal is it’s the only time you’ll play the game… James!” announced Noel. The plumber from Sheffield carried box 19 to the Pound Table. His friends call him ‘Jammy Jimmy’ because he always falls on his feet. Noel welcomed James’s girlfriend, Dizzy to the game whom he first met when they were at school. Noel held up a photograph of James modelling for a calendar of Yorkshire’s hottest men. James felt embarrassed because he had to strip off for some of the shots.

£100,000 was first out “not that jammy” said James. £1,000, £3,000 and £10,000 followed “you do like your reds” said Noel. The nightmare start was confirmed when Andy unveiled £250,000 in a rare all-red opening. The Banker could be heard laughing down the phone. Noel said The Banker liked the sweet irony because his nickname is ‘Jammy Jimmy.’ The Banker said he thought James couldn’t come back from that and dreamt of James leaning against a column of blues. The first offer was £500 – No Deal. The first blue, £10 came in round two. But the blue run was halted with another big red, £75,000. James bravely chose box 22 to complete the round and thankfully it contained £250. Noel said The Banker was still dreaming of James modelling next to a column of blues. Noel then revealed The Banker has the calendar! A topless photograph of James appeared on the board to a chorus of whistles. The Banker’s second offer was £250 – No Deal. Noel said he thought James needs to nibble The Banker’s power five in round three. £750, £500 and 50p completed a much needed all-blue round. The Banker stated that it is an extraordinary board before the topless photo of James peaked into the board again. The Banker thought James was a good sport before offering £5,000. It was a meaningful amount but James was here to play the game – No Deal.

James wanted to slow it down and revealed that his box 19 is his birthday, which added an extra significance to the game. Straight after declining it, £5,000 was first out in round four. Sue revealed £100 in box 10. Noel said he thinks it would be a good to get either 1p or 10p out of the game. However £15,000 was wiped off the board. The Banker mentioned the gap on the right hand side to Noel. The topless photo made its third appearance on the board. The Banker said it is a hard board to play before offering £7,000. Noel said that he couldn’t remember the last time only one of The Bankers power five had gone at this point. James assessed the ‘risk reward’ balance before deciding to – No Deal. James turned the game around in round five. 10p, £1 and £5 completed a brilliant all-blue round. The Banker thought James was jammy after all and Noel said the round cost The Banker £10,000 because the offer is now £17,000. James knew what he wanted to do straight away – DEAL! £35,000 and £20,000 left £50,000 as a lone red in the final round. Noel told James he wanted him to live up to his nickname. Paul flipped box 17 to see 1p for the third time in four games! It was a £50 / £50,000 climax and The Banker decided to offer The Banker’s Gamble. “Big risk” said James so Dizzy came down for support. It didn’t take long for James to ask for the question – No Deal. Dizzy’s relief was short lived when Noel flipped James’s box 19 to see £50,000! James admitted he was “gutted” but plans to buy a new car and go on holiday with his winnings.

For the full game report click here >>>
more

Family man Stephen had his big chance

The contestants remember numbers...

The contestants remember numbers associated with their game, especially their game play number. Noel said we are fast approaching show number 1400 and milestone numbers are very sought after. But today Noel announced “we are not even five years old and you are the 1397th player… Stephen!” The social care worker from Leicester carried box 17 down the Walk of Wealth. Noel mentioned that Stephen is a big family man and welcomed wife Nikki to the game. Family means everything to Stephen who got married last November and has two children. A photograph of Steve Junior and Jesire was shown. Stephen got married in Cuba and had brought along a small box, which contained the first champagne cork from his wedding and a lucky penny. A little good luck teddy which read “I love you daddy” was his last good luck item. Stephen was nervous because he was playing the game for his children and had to protect them from the evil Banker.

Stephen revealed it was his daughter’s birthday, 17 on the Pound Table. An unbelievable start of £1 and 1p was made even more amazing because Paul G had the kiss two days in a row! £3,000, £1,000 and £10 completed an exceptional opening round. The Banker had to admit that for a contestant, it was one of the best openings he can recall. Noel said The Banker could see the dreams in Stephen’s eyes before offering £12,500 – No Deal. £250 and £20,000 was ‘alright’ in round two. Lisa was asked to open box six which contained £5,000. The Banker waited for newbie Lisa to put her box away before offering £15,000 – No Deal. Stephen was raised by his grandfather, Vincent who was the only male figure in his life. He passed away last September and when Stephen took his ashes to the Caribbean he managed to meet his biological father. Stephen said it was “fantastic” and it was just like “looking in a mirror.” Round three produced £35,000 and £10,000 “don’t do a wobble” warned Noel before £500 completed the round. The Banker thought Stephen made it harder for him by personalising the game. Box 17 was now worth £16,000. After a quick consolation with wife, Nikki Stephen decided to – No Deal.

Ian called Stephen “the beast from the East” before pulling out £50 from box eight. £5 followed. Noel revealed that Stephen is the national amateur boxing association champion, undefeated in 10 fights. Stephen is also keen on writing and would like to publish a novel about a man who thinks the world is against him. That could have described The Banker when Barry completed round four with £100. “A dream eight box” said Noel. The Banker thought with that board his offer was “irrelevant” although he tried his best to stop him with £25,000. “Clever offer” thought Nikki, but Stephen wanted to talk to The Banker himself, the phone rang but when Stephen picked it up, The Banker hung up! The Banker will only speak to Stephen if he deals. Stephen was ready for the question – DEAL! Stephen was going to keep his children’s birthdays until the end. £100,000, 50p and £15,000 were not good enough in round five. The Banker would have been offering £42,500. When Mary unveiled £750 in the last round, Noel asked “what have you walked away from?” £50,000 and 10p left a £75,000 / £250,000 finish! The Banker didn’t blame Stephen for dealing; the offer would have been a massive £150,000! Noel flipped box 17 to see the big one £250,000! “You let me down” joked Noel who wanted Stephen to be our first male Quarter Millionaire. Noel thanked Stephen for his big presence on the wings and memorial game. Stephen went back to his family £25,000 better off.

For the full game report click here >>>
more

Jayne brought her whip along but did she get to spank the Banker?

Noel reminded everyone that there...

Noel reminded everyone that there really is mega-money here to change your life “It’s not over until all the boxes have been opened… Jayne!” She walked towards Noel who said “be gentle on me” before parking box 22 on the Pound Table. Originally from Kenya, Jayne visited England several times before moving permanently in 1998. Jayne said life in Kenya was “a bit hard” and she dreamt of coming over here for a better life, although moving to England was not easy for Jayne who had to “work, work, and work!”

She told Noel how she belongs to the ‘Mau Mau’ people which is a very powerful tribe back in Kenya. Jayne brought a whip with her to spank The Banker, but said that she normally uses it to squat flies, “you can keep it away from my flies” joked Noel. Jayne said that she would like to donate money to a children’s home in Kenya. Noel held up a painting of a Cheetah, made by one of the children; they apparently sell them to tourists as a way to make a living explained.

‘Fancy boy’ Graham was amongst the Pilgrims and he was a little concerned by Jayne’s relationship with the Banker.

The game began with Sue unveiling 50p. Jayne was making tribal gestures which mean ‘power’ before finding £1,000 and £250. Noel discovered the fly squatter was made from a cow’s tail, “a dead cow!” shouted Jayne. Her game blew apart thanks to Justin and the £250,000 before £1 was wiped from the board. “One more to go” said Noel but The Banker rang to correct the host “Oh no there isn’t.” The Banker said he thought Noel had mad cow’s disease. Jayne and the Banker have history “daddy loves his love muffin” was uncomfortable listening for Graham. The opening offer was £6,500 – No Deal. Newbie, Denise described herself as ‘beautiful’ before revealing £3,000. Caroline showed £20,000 before Noel told everyone that Jayne is a Rehabilitation support worker. “Do you need some help” replied Jayne, who helps people who have recently returned home from hospital but still need care and attention. Jayne is determined to own a nursing home someday and is here for a good deposit. Her dream is to run a home where the elderly and vulnerable feel safe and secure. Letty concluded the round with £10. The Banker called Jayne a ‘fascinating sensitive person who wants to do good things for other people.” He was willing to buy her box for £8,500 – No Deal. A brilliant all-blue third round consisted of £50, £500 and 10p. The Banker tried to avoid the crack of the whip by offering £12,500 – No Deal.

The blue run continued in spectacular fashion in round four. 1p was found in box five; Stephen got the kiss on the Walk of Wealth. Jayne was born on Friday 13th but box 13 was unlucky for some, £75,000. £35,000 did more damage. The 1p meant it wasn’t a complete disaster but The Banker had to go down to £10,000. “Go to the end” said Graham. Jayne insisted nothing scares her – No Deal. £50,000 made a big hole at the start of round five. Jayne used her daughter’s and Graham’s birthday to find £100 and £750 respectfully. The Banker thought Jayne’s enthusiasm masked some brave decisions. He tried to pitch the offer to the wings who have given her advice, £16,000. The plan didn’t work, Jayne asked the Pilgrims to raise their hands if they would deal. Most noticeably Graham raised his hand. Jayne asked for the question – Deal! Jayne felt she was ‘well qualified’ to deliver a Banker spanking. £10,000 and £15,000 meant there was one last shot at finding the £100,000. Andy flipped box 12 to see £5 leaving a £5,000 / £100,000 finish. It was an identical finish to Martyn’s game yesterday. “Extraordinary” cried The Banker who would have offered £32,000. Noel flipped Jayne’s box 22 revealing the massive £100,000! Jayne said she had a good time and is going to take the money to Kenya personally.

For the full game report click here >>>
more

At the start of a new week...

At the start of a new week Noel pointed out that collectively the wings have waited over 30 years for their opportunity to play Deal. Even more shockingly there is one person who has waited four years and eight months for their chance to play the game – Noel! “In the queue ahead of me, it’s… Martyn!” cried Noel. The Bank worker from South Wales carried box 19 down the Walk of Wealth. The taffies were in and they gave Martyn a huge cheer when he reached the Pound Table. Noel also welcomed Martyn’s dad, who was amongst the noisy Pilgrims to the game. Noel told Martyn that the Banker hates everyone from South Wales. Martyn works with five star business customers, dealing with loans and lending advice. He sees huge figures on a daily basis so he didn’t think the Banker could faze him. Noel held up a few photographs of Martyn’s family and friends before wishing him good luck.

£15,000 and £1 were found before newbie Jeff revealed £250. £50 and 1p concluded a great opening round. Martyn gave Letty the penny kiss “you jammy player” said Noel. “Always, the Welsh do this to me” moaned the Banker. The Banker described Martyn as ‘the Welsh Russell Crowe’ and promised to get his revenge on the Welsh in this life or the next! The first offer was a mere £50. “A respectful offer” joked Martyn before deciding to – No Deal. The second round contained £100, £3,000 and £500. “The Welsh are brave, determined, tenacious and a lot of trouble” said the Banker who offered a respectful £14,500. Martyn thought the board was “amazing” – No Deal. Martyn thought he was dreaming when Caroline unveiled £1,000 at the start of round three. Noel thought it was ‘magical’ when Paul G pulled out £5. Martyn then rubbed noses with Noel which he called a ‘nosey posey.’ The first big hit £75,000 was the sting in the tail. Despite the first big hit, the Banker couldn’t question Martyn’s courage and stuck at £14,500 calling it a ‘lifeline.’ Martyn owes his dad some money who shouted out “Deal!” Martyn was ready for the question – No Deal.

Martyn admitted it was getting “scary” when 50p started round four. £35,000 followed before Noel revealed Martyn’s ambition is to travel the world, buy a new car and purchase a new boiler for his dad! £20,000 meant there were five reds and three blues on the board at eight box. “Tell that young man that he’s getting up my nosey posey” said the Banker who offered £22,000. “It’s your first real decision” said his dad. Martyn knew he’d be very unlucky to take the three higher amounts out in the next round – No Deal. Luck was not on Martyn’s side though; £250,000 went in the first box. £10,000 and £10 were also found in round five. The Banker thought Martyn was brave to turn down £22,000 so he only dropped to £18,000, which wasn’t much of a punishment. “Worst case scenario, how would you feel?” asked his dad. The Banker rang back “take home £18,000 and forget you turned down £22,000. Go home with a blue and you’ll never forget you turned down £18,000.” It must have worked because Martyn chose to – Deal! The final round began with £750 “who clapped!” snapped Noel. £50,000 and 10p completed the round. It was a £5,000 / £100,000 finish, the Banker would have offered £35,000. Noel flipped Martyn’s box 19 to see £5,000. Noel said Martyn can repay his dad, buy him a boiler and maybe a holiday. “I’m going to enjoy the money!” shouted his dad. Martyn said his Deal or No Deal experience was the”best time of my life.”

For the full game report click here >>>
more

Welcome back to the Dream Factory for...

Welcome back to the Dream Factory for a brand new season of Deal or No Deal! Noel kicked the season off with some amazing facts. The Banker has paid out nearly 21.5 million pounds! The Quarter of a Million has come to the Pound Table 52 times, whilst the 1p has come to the Pound Table 57 times. There are 31 members of the 1p club, two £250,000 winners and four players who have left with nothing! Noel announced “I hope you like the idea of walking out of here with £250,000… Kevin!” The Bank worker from Oldham carried box 22 down the Walk of Wealth. Noel was shocked to see Kevin’s wife, Laura who was sat amongst the Pilgrims crying already. Kevin had recently changed job roles from debt collection to aiding people in financial difficulty. He explained his job to give advice on customer’s ins and outs. Kevin first laid eyes on Laura at baggage reclaim and then noticed they were staying in the same hotel whilst on holiday in Portugal. After a couple of nights they met up and have since gone on to have two boys, Jimmy who loves cake and Archie who is five months.

Kevin wanted to start with box five after seeing it in a picture, £35,000 was inside. 10p and £15,000 followed before Martyn the ‘cucumber’ kept his cool unveiling £3,000. 50p concluded a “jolly good opening round” said Noel. “Hello again players, hello again Pilgrims” cried the Banker who had missed everyone during the summer break. In the end the cash did the talking £9,950 was offered – No Deal. Newbie Andy kicked off round two with box 13 and £1,000. Maria was asked if she had any itches before blowing the game apart with £250,000! Kevin offered to tell a joke but the Banker warned, if he failed to make anyone laugh the next offer would be 1p. “What did the accused duck say to the judge duck?” asked Kevin. “Yes Mallard!” Balbina completed the round with £500. The Banker could be heard laughing down the phone, he loved the joke and offered £7,500 – No Deal. Kevin picked up the pace in round three finding £75,000, £250 and £5. The Banker decided to keep up the pace and quickly stuck at £7,500. Laura said it was a “very good offer” but Kevin was going for it – No Deal.

Round four began with Daphne pulling £10,000 out of box six. Noel wanted to find out what Jayne had been up to over the summer but the Banker wants his privacy! She chanted ‘blue, blue, blue’ before unveiling £10. Noel wanted Kevin to find the penny but Stephen could only manage £50. The Banker told Jayne “don’t worry, daddy still loves his fluffy love muffin” before offering £12,500. Kevin began thinking about his boys, which was his reason for coming on the show. Box 22 meant nothing to him but he thought it was a “really good offer.” Kevin wants to pay off some debt and get a deposit so they can move nearer a good school. The Banker rang back to say it was in Jimmy’s best interest for Kevin to deal because the offer was now £12,500 and a piece of cake – Deal! It was a perfect start to round five, £100,000 and £50,000 going in the first two boxes. £750 completed the round. The offer would have been £2,500. Kevin confirmed the Banker spanking by finding £20,000 in the final round. £1 and 1p left a £100 / £5,000 climax. The offer would have been offering £1,500. Kevin had incorrectly guessed the contents of box 22 throughout the game so the Banker said if he could correctly guess the contents of his box, the contestants on the wings would get £100 each. Kevin guessed £5,000 was in box 22, Noel pulled the seal to see £5,000! The Banker was a further £2,100 worse off. Kevin had already spent his winnings on debt and the deposit in his mind. It will ease everything and Noel was pleased to change another life.

For the full game report click here >>>
more

The tide came in for Dai on Desert Island Deal

Noel welcomed us to Desert Island Deal but...

Noel welcomed us to Desert Island Deal but it is no paradise, the Ocean is turning ugly and they are running out of food and water! To pass the time a group of cast-a-ways play a game with 22 boxes and a phone so “let’s choose the chums” said Noel. “Yes we scoff at adversity and want to make our dreams come true for you… Dai!” announced Noel. The Dai was cast, the primary school teacher from Bridgend carried box 13 down the Walk of Wealth. Noel was pleased to hear that Dai uses Deal or No Deal as part of his maths teaching. “It is a good way to make maths fun” explained Dai. It helps them learn to handle money, use a calculator and make decision on when to deal. Noel held up a Deal or No Deal formatted work sheet which Dai uses with year five classes. Dai’s proudest moment was when he completed the Great North Run. A child from his school was diagnosed with leukaemia so Dai decided to contact a charity who advised him to enter the event. Noel showed a picture of Dai looking proud holding up his medal after completing the race. Dai admitted that box 13 worried him because he was going to pick that number first.

The Banker asked Dai to choose an amount from the board and if that amount was discovered in the opening round, Dai would win a holiday. Dai picked five pounds. Martyn, Kenny and Paul came close with £500, 50p and £10! Noel thought it was a sensational start. £250 and £1 completed an amazing all-blue start but Dai failed to find the fiver. “Did you pay formatting rights?” asked the Banker because Dai had used Deal or No Deal’s copyright to make his worksheets. Dai looked worried so the Banker thought he might become the first player to face criminal proceedings. The opening offer was £13,500 – No Deal. £35,000 and £100,000 was a nasty start to round two. Noel had a horrible thought that the five pounds was in Dai’s box 13. Dan concluded the round with £50,000! The Banker had a word with his lawyers and Dai’s use of Deal or No Deal was ‘highly illegal’ and because his class were aged 10 they are ‘all implicated! ’ Noel read out a message from the Banker “Hello children, Mr. Goldsworthy has been very naughty and now you will have to go to jail. Kiss goodbye to mummy and daddy!” If that wasn’t bad enough he also dropped the offer to £3,500 – No Deal. 10p, £1,000 and 1p were wiped from the board in round three. Jade got the kiss. Noel thought it was a ‘yoyo’ game. “The tide came in, the tide went out and came back in again” said the Banker who offered his original £13,500. He also thought Dai unconsciously knows the five pounds is in his box. Dan reminded Dai that “the bottles might come into play” – No Deal.

A horrid fourth included £3,000, £250,000 and £5,000. The Banker decided to offer £3,500 plus one bottle. Noel reminded Dai that if he finds ‘Treasure Island’ that would double to £7,000 – No Deal. Noel couldn’t recall a game like it when £100 and £50 were first out in round five. Dai recalled a random dream he’d had about box 15. He was in a supermarket car park, there were boxes dotted everywhere but 15 stood out. Phillip Schofield came over and told him to leave 15. Danny completed the round with £75,000! “Phillip Schofield would make an excellent host” said the Banker. The offer was £5,000 plus one bottle – No Deal. £750 meant five pounds was the last blue in the final round. £15,000 and £20,000 left a £5 / £10,000 finish. Dai’s show number is 1384 and the offer was £1,384. “If Phillip Schofield ruins my life I won’t forgive him” remarked Dai – No Deal. “How much faith do you have in Phillip Schofield?” asked the Banker before offering the Swap – No Swap. Noel flipped the lid on box 13 to reveal £10,000! There were huge celebrations, Dai plans to travel and teach abroad with his winnings which will “go along way!”

For the full game report click here >>>

more

Noel was marooned on Desert Island...

Noel was marooned on Desert Island Deal, the Pilgrims made up the Ocean and all the cast-a-way contestants were keeping up morale. Noel mentioned the mysterious messages in the bottles before choosing a cast-a-way. “Now it’s your chance to leave the island with the Banker’s booty…Laura!” cried Noel. The travel agent carried box nine down the Walk of Wealth. Noel understood the last five years have been like ‘Hell’ for Laura, in 2005 Laura had a tumour on her pancreas. She had to undergo a major operation which nearly killed her. Then in 2008 she began loosing weight after having a tummy upset. She discovered she had been wrongly diagnosed and the lump had been Cancerous. She received no treatment for Cancer after her operation so she now has secondary in the Liver. “It isn’t going to go away” revealed Laura, so a transplant will eventually be needed. “People think Cancer is a death sentence but is not” explained Laura who tries to help other Cancer suffers in a support group. “People can carry on for years and years” she added, which is what Laura plans to do. Noel held up two photographs of Laura’s children and husband, Jamie at their wedding. Best friend, Katie was amongst the Pilgrims with father-in-law, Staff making up the Ocean.

The Banker rang before any boxes were picked to say if Laura finds 10p in the opening round she would win a holiday! £100,000, 50p and £10,000 weren’t a great start. £50 and £500 concluded the round. Noel liked the round despite missing the 10p. The Banker was amazed by Laura’s story but “business is business” and he offered £2,000 – No Deal. Dan started round two with £50,000 “we all want a big money game” said Noel. £3,000 and 1p completed the round. Stephen was the lucky one to get the kiss. The Banker said the 1p saved her and went up to £5,000 and one bottle. Noel said there are three messages, two are ‘Desert Island’ and one is ‘Treasure Island.’ If Laura found the ‘Treasure Island’ she would double her winnings to £10,000 – No Deal. £250, £5 and £5,000 were wiped from the board in round three. The Banker described Laura as an ‘extraordinary’ contestant because of her single mindedness and offered £14,000. Laura thought that offer was ‘huge’ but she followed Dai’s advice and gave it another go – No Deal.

The Banker was under pressure when £100, £1 and £15,000 did little damage in round four. “A fantastic board, I’m excited and nervous” admitted Laura. The Banker was looking to save himself some money and offered £12,000 plus one bottle. There were cries of “no” from the Ocean so the Banker rang back, “what an ugly current” and upped his offer to £12,000 plus two bottles. Laura would feel bad if she didn’t take anything back home for her children. She admitted it was ‘crunch time’ and a ‘make or break’ decision – Deal! A nightmare start to round five saw £10 and £750 discovered. The Banker rang to say if the next one is blue the offer will be £45,000! Linda flipped box 14 to see 10p! It was an all-red five box and the Banker would have offered £45,000. ‘How much cruelty is left?’ asked Noel going into the final round. £35,000 and £75,000 was heading in the right direction. Kenny was asked to kill the game with box seven and £250,000! It was a £1,000 / £20,000 finish and the Banker would have been offering £6,000. Noel flipped Laura’s box nine to see £1,000. It was time to smash the bottles, Laura picked the Blue and Red bottles. Noel put on protective clothing before smashing the Red bottle to see ‘Desert Island.’ Noel smashed the blue bottle which hid ‘Treasure Island!’ doubling Laura’s winnings to £24,000! “I’m over the moon” said Laura who has had one of the best times of her life.

For the full game report click here >>>
more

How about that then! Dennis’s completely unique game

Noel revealed the secret to...

Noel revealed the secret to Deal timing “It’s not when you come, it’s when you go… Dennis!” Noel’s best mate, Dennis wore his trademark lemon shirt whilst carrying box 17 down the Walk of Wealth. The odd job man from Leeds used to be a service engineer but now does any job going. Dennis was proud to say he does all the work himself and doesn’t employ anyone else. Noel held up a photograph of Dennis in a homemade Superman outfit, he was dressed by his two daughters and wore his wife’s knickers! A photograph of his wife, June and Dennis outside their motor home followed. They ‘bombed’ around Europe visiting 11 countries in only nine weeks. Dennis needed to climb a ladder to cut a low hanging branch to get his motor home under but he slipped off! The Doctor asked “why were up a tree?” Dennis replied “that’s where I live!” to everyone’s amusement. Dennis described himself as a ‘practical’ man and gave a ladder to June for her birthday. He also gave her a cordless drill; “what for?” asked Noel “for when there is no electricity” replied Dennis.

A contrasting start saw £10,000, 50p and £250,000 wiped from the board. £5 and £250 completed the opening round. The Banker told Dennis that he was what younger people would describe as a ‘ledge.’ “To stand on?” asked Dennis, the Banker explained it was short for ‘legend.’ The first offer was £6,000, which Dennis was happy with but he said – No Deal. A great start to round two saw Haj reveal 1p and get the kiss. £3,000 was found “not an odd job, you have a lot of work to do” warned Noel. Laura completed the round with £20,000. Dennis shockingly revealed that he went skinny dipping with June in the shower last night. The Banker admitted the 1p had helped Dennis enormously so the offer was £9,000 – No Deal. Noel wanted Dennis to do an all-blue round. £750, 10p and £5,000 weren’t far wrong in round three. The Banker said it was a good round for Dennis who could find himself skinny dipping in a different class of shower with £15,000. Noel said the Banker was worried about the block of reds, Dennis decided to – Deal!

The whole Dream Factory was stunned by Dennis’s decision. During the break Dennis told Noel “I meant to say no deal.” Noel told the viewers at home this shocking revelation and luckily for Dennis that moment was caught on tape and replayed to the studio. The Banker asked the Pilgrims to vote if they thought Dennis deserved to have the question again. The majority of hands were raised so Noel asked the question again – No Deal.

Round four started with £35,000 and £100,000 ‘oh my word’ said Noel, Dennis looked to have accidentally got it right the first time. £500 completed the ghastly round. “Viva democracy” jeered the Banker. He told the Pilgrims “your vote has robbed this sweet old man of half his money” and offered £7,500. Noel told Dennis not to dwell on his last decision but Dennis wanted to – Deal! Noel thought it was a ‘painful irony.’ £50,000, £10 and £1,000 were discovered in round five. The Banker was laughing himself silly because he would have offered £15,000. Noel felt awful when £50 and £1 were unveiled in the final round. Dennis was one box away from an all-red finish. Luckily Maria was asked to conclude the round with box 21 and £75,000! With £100 and £15,000 left the Banker would have offered £7,000. The Banker rang back again to offer a Special Swap in a most unique climax. Dennis’s £7,500 was safe but the twist was that if Noel revealed the £15,000 on the Pound Table, Dennis would win that. It was a no lose climax but the Banker didn’t think Dennis could get it right – No Swap. Noel flipped box 17 to see £15,000! “I don’t believe it!” cried Noel who was hugged by an ‘over the moon’ Dennis. He plans to use the money to go on holiday to anywhere as long as it’s hot!

For the full game report click here>>>
more

The contestants on the wings have...

The contestants on the wings have collectively waited over 30 years for this opportunity. Individually the waiting was now over for one person so let’s hope the wait was worth it for… Ovie! Noel said ‘life will never be the same again’ as Ovie carried box nine down the Walk of Wealth. Ovie needs to change his life after he was made redundant from IT in 2008. He hasn’t managed to find work since and lost everything including his car and house. Ovie said it was ‘tough time’ being made homeless but he tried to keep on smiling calling it ‘swings and roundabouts.’ Ovie was gratefully to have a loving and supportive family behind him. Ovie felt alone but when he went to the courts he saw a list of hundreds of people who were in the same situation. Ovie feels the only way is up and came on Deal or No Deal to help build a new life. Noel held up Ovie’s wedding photograph from Las Vegas in 2003 during the ‘good times.’ A photograph of Ovie’s little girl, Nevaeh followed. He described her as his ‘little piece of heaven’ because her name is ‘heaven’ spelt backwards!

Caroline said Ovie was a ‘lovely daddy’ before unveiling £250. £15,000, £50,000 and £1,000 did some damage before Jayne completed the opening round with another red £20,000! “Do you know how the game works?” asked the Banker. Ovie got confused in a previous game, cheering at the wrong moment. The Banker thought Ovie was on his side but he had hit too many reds for a generous offer £4,000 – No Deal. Round two began with £100 and £75,000 “not feeling good” thought Noel. There were nine blues undiscovered so Noel told Ovie to change his tactics and think ‘kiss.’ Harry was asked to open box 14 which hid £750. The Banker thought he was working ‘Ovietime’ to be his best friend. An ‘unusual’ board meant the Banker was unable to do much so he stuck at £4,000 – No Deal. Martyn revealed £100,000! “What a horrible run of luck” said Noel. £5 and 50p concluded the third round. The Banker thought Ovie was edging closer to the £250,000 in each round. He was prepared to offer a ‘lifeline’ of £4,000 again. Ovie asked for the question but the Banker rang back and said “you’re being too hasty.” The Banker was certain Ovie would hit the £250,000 in the next round – No Deal.

The Banker was enjoying Ovie’s misfortune “anyone got any popcorn?” he then put on a movie trailer voice “At the end of a man’s dream, the lights go out in his eyes, now showing in the Dream Factory.” £1 and £35,000 was a disastrous start to round three. The game wasn’t respecting Ovie’s needs and Dai showed another red £10,000. The Banker gave one thumb up for the movie because it didn’t have the ending he wanted. The board was weaker but the £250,000 was still there so the Banker chose to offer a ‘too generous’ offer £6,000. Harry said it was a “one box game” and Imani told Ovie ‘if you are in any doubt take it.” Caroline added “if the £250K goes, are you prepared to go all the way?” Ovie asked for the question – Deal! 1p and £50 changed the atmosphere in round five. “Don’t do an all-blue round” exclaimed Noel. Haj flipped box three which contained £250,000! Ovie has created a Banker spanking and won the game with just one box. It was a horror movie for the Banker who would have offered £925. £5,000, £500 and £10 left a 10p / £3,000 finish. The Banker would have offered £700. Noel flipped Ovie’s box nine to see £3,000, Ovie couldn’t have any regrets after doubling that amount. Ovie said he would take Nevaeh on her first holiday, give some money to his mum and settle some debts. “I love you all!” said Ovie before his fellow contestants did the ‘Ovie shout.’

For the full game report click here>>>
more

Hayley signed off with a Banker Spanking

There are quite a few qualities needed...

There are quite a few qualities needed to be a great Deal player and timing is right at the top… Hayley! The sign language interpreter from Northampton carried box 18 down the Walk of Wealth. Noel was intrigued by her career choice. Hayley insisted she fell into it by accident. She used to talk a lot in school, which often got her into trouble. So she taught a friend ‘a b c’ in sign language so they could communicate. Hayley didn’t realise she would still be doing it years later. Business partner Mark with his wife Manjit was amongst the Pilgrims. Hayley’s favourite cousin, Gillian was also there for support. Hayley had a dream in which she was swimming and spotted treasure below the surface. The water was too murky; Hayley couldn’t see where she was going because she had forgotten her goggles. So Hayley had brought her goggles to the Dream Factory to help her find treasure in her game. Noel held up a photograph of Hayley’s grandparents, Hayley would like nothing more than to take them back to Jamaica. Hayley has made a side bet with her Nan that a certain box always has a blue inside. Hayley didn’t believe her and has £20 riding on it.

Hayley went straight to her Nan’s box 20 which did contain a blue £5! Noel couldn’t believe that Hayley was down £20 after the very first box. Maria made Hayley feel better by unveiling 1p and getting the kiss. £50,000, £1,000 and £50 completed the opening round. The Banker called Hayley by her nickname ‘Giraffe fingers’ before offering £20 so she could pay off her Nan. He quickly rang back to say he forgot to mention the £11,000 in front of it – No Deal. A horror start to round two saw Ovie uncover the £250,000! Noel felt sorry for Hayley but she wanted everyone to remain positive. £15,000 followed so Noel told Hayley to wear her goggles. All the boxes looked blue and it worked £250 concluded the round. The Banker was relieved that the £250,000 left early and thought Hayley was the best thing on the ‘Goggle box.’ He was taking her seriously though and offered £7,020 – No Deal. The third round went swimmingly with 50p, £10 and £5,000 wiped from the board. “The goggles come out and the gloves come off’ said the Banker who offered £12,020. Hayley had three main goals, a deposit for a house, help an orphanage in Uganda and take grandparents to Jamaica. The Banker spoke to Hayley to try and find out her target but Hayley wasn’t prepared to tell. So Hayley wrote her target in Noel’s book. Noel also wrote the Banker’s guess alongside in the book. Noel asked the question – No Deal.

The curse of the Newbie returned when Caroline revealed £100,000 in round four. Hayley couldn’t look when £750 and £1 concluded the round. The Banker was in at the deep end but he warned Hayley not to chase the game ‘the water is very deep and you might struggle to get back to the surface’ before offering £13,020 – No Deal. Hayley wanted a quick and painless fifth round. 10p, £10,000 and £75,000 made it a very different five box. The Banker thought that was ‘cruel luck’ and put a value of £6,520 on her box. Hayley believed she was a member of the OHO club – No Deal. The final round started well with £500 and £3,000 but Hayley found herself with a tough decision to make. She left her Mum’s birthday box nine and Gillian’s favourite number four. The Banker rang to say ‘what a dilemma’ but offered to help by telling her to take £14,000 now! Noel thought it was a sign of the Banker getting nervous but Hayley saw it as a way out – Deal! Noel was shocked but Danny opened box four which hid £35,000 leaving a £100 / £20,000 finish. The Banker would have offered £7,000. Noel confirmed the Banker had made a big mistake when he flipped Hayley’s box 18 to see £100! Noel opened his book to see Hayley’s target was £25,000. The Banker had guessed it was between £40,000 and £45,000 which added salt in his wound.

For the full game report click here>>>
more
